Frequently Asked Questions

Can I create my own fund?

You can start your own fund with as little as a dollar. If you’re wanting to start your own fund, contact us. We would have a conversation about what your goals are, what you want to accomplish and what your philanthropic needs are.

Do you take a management fee?

We do. That’s how most, if not all, community foundations operate. Our management fee is 3%, charged at .75% each quarter based on the total account value of the fund. We have a goal to reduce this percentage as LCCF grows. As our assets under management grows, we will be able to reduce the management fee over time; it’s an ongoing conversation our board will keep revisiting.

What do you do with the fees?

The 3% is going directly back into the community as much as possible. It’s what bought the Diamond View building and maintains the operational cost of the 542 Event Center which is utilized to support many community events. Furthermore, the fees we charge is what bought the True Value building we now use as a multi-purpose facility for the community.
